During college, I took an elective course on Motion Design. One of the final assignments in this class was to create an explainer video on any subject.
I chose to make an animation explaining how to brew coffee with a French press. I really enjoy the whole process of making coffee this way. For me, preparing it is even more enjoyable than drinking it. That is why I thought it would be interesting to illustrate in animated form a process that I personally find fun.
I broke the steps down and wrote a script with the order in which I would present them.
To better control the pacing of the video, I decided to display the information through subtitles. I created all the illustrations used in the video to ensure they shared the same style and included the characteristics I needed. For the music, I chose a bossa nova track, as it is a Brazilian genre often associated with coffee shops, even internationally.
